Bond Agency

The University of the Arts Helsinki, with the help of the creative agency Bond, create a unique, visual brand.

One of the strategies when creating this brand was to establish an anchor symbol that brought together the mother brand (University of the Arts) as well as the three academy brands (Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, Sibelius Academy and Theatre Academy). These three academies merged in 2013 to become the University of the Arts.

This anchor symbol was a simple and bold ‘X‘. It can mean many things, such as a starting point, a destination, a location, a signature, a question, a solution and more.
