The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music

A winning project for a new logo and visual identity of The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow.

This design takes inspiration from both classical and experimental music notation.

The logo is based on a symmetrical five-line staff (a set of five horizontal lines and four spaces that each represent a different musical pitch). The idea is that this visual, dynamic staff carries throughout the whole visual identity.

Colours are drawn from the expressive scores of Krzysztof Penderecki, the university’s patron.
