ECO-FLO

Morrama

During the pandemic, one of the major side effects many did not consider was the waste generated by single use plastics.

With the constant need to test, rapid covid tests have been produced and used in the millions, all while being individually wrapped in plastic and not recyclable.

Morrama, a design firm in London, has created a rapid test concept that is biodegradable and recyclable called ECO-FLO. The test is made up of four components: The sachet, test kit, test strip and absorbent pad.

Made from paper pulp and using something called Nature Flex film, the ECO-FLO kits will biodegrade in 4-6 weeks.

We have developed ECO-FLO to highlight the need for a more sustainable design. Projecting forward to future pandemics, ECO-FLO could offer a simpler, more accessible, and more sustainable option to aid in keeping people safe through instantaneous mass testing, designed with people and the planet in mind.
