A logo (or logotype) is a graphical symbol used to represent a brand. It’s usually the most recognisable brand asset.
What’s the difference between a logo, wordmark and monogram?
Logos can take various forms:
An icon or mark is a visual symbol used to represent a brand. e.g. Nike, Apple, McDonalds
A wordmark or logotype is a text-only typographic treatment of a brand name. e.g. FedEx, Amazon, Netflix
A monogram is a logo created by combining two or more letterforms. e.g. Chanel, Louis Vuitton, New York Yankees
